Is PAS seriously anti-China or merely 3R political rhetorics against Chinese?

Taken from Malaysiakini here

During the heat of the controversy over Chinese foreign students at a private High School waving China flag to welcome their countryman - Navy Cadet making a port-of-call at the Penang port, the emotional outburst by Malays as provoked by politicians - be them from PPBM or PAS or few UMNO politucians.

To the servicemen, its a common practise in military diplomacy. The US's 7th fleet manned by real navy routinely do port-of-call in Penang, Port Klang and Kota Kinabalu.

Few yeas ago an aircraft carrier stopped over at Port Klang. Within days after the incident, Russian and German Navy made port-of-call.

The uproar over China flag waving by Chinese tourist at a recent Guan Gong festival in Telok Intan seemed to be an extension from the sentiment provoked by the Penang port-of-call.

Its unfathomable for Malaysians to get upset over the China flag when its common to see Malaysian displaying paraphenalia with Union Jack or Star Spangled Banner.

On Tik Tok, videos of public gathering of Malaysian students in London waving the Jalur Gemilang without any complain from the British public.

Social media is sharing images of Malaysian putting up the longest Malaysian flag on the Great Wall of China.

So why the fuzz by PAS, especially by Perak politician Razman Zakaria who uttered racially charged words to call "those with eyes, skin like ours must unite" at a Malaysian flag waving rally to respond to the China flag waving incident?

Seriously PAS cannot claim the moral high ground of being anti-communist or anti-China since they invited China investors to grow large durian plantations in Kedah and Kelantan.

Kedah government are illegally doing joint-venture to explore rare earth elements mining. Kelantan state directed contractor awarded the Kota Baru bus terminal contract to sub-contract to a China company.

It is not too long ago that PAS were working hands-in-glove with DAP and aggresively defending them against allegations from UMNO elements of DAP's historial and family link to communist such as Chin Peng.

Apparently Razman falsely accused Chin Peng's distance relative, Nga Kor Meng as the mastermind behind the Guan Gong incident. Nga plan to take Razman to court. And, it is not the first time Razman is liable for his reckless words and compulsive politicking.

Razman has no choice but to carry his lies through.

Despite the seeming over reaction on the Penang port-of-call and Telok Intan incident, it is now apparent that the public outcry has a legal justification.

According to legal associate at Xavier & Koh, it is an offense under the National Emblem (Control of Display) Act, 1949 to display the flag of another country in public.

Unless there is an exception under the public gazzette, displaying the Palestinian flag or foreign team football flag is considered an offense.

It is just that it is hardly enforced and Perak Menteri Besar can be excused for assuming it is not an offense as long as the law is adhered.

In his Sunday column, Wong Chun Wai highlighted flag waving is a serious act in many countries and one should not be presumptous to assume waving any flag at will in Malaysia is OK.

Despite the legal justification, the provocation of the issue by PAS is politically motivated to invoke 3R sentiment among the Malay masses against the unity government.

Its the same motivation behind claims of 1.5 million Chinese tourist disappeared upon entering Malaysia, and recent claims China buyers are dominating the urban property market.

The revelation that civil servants in the Immigration Department, Registration Department, etc. actively involved in criminal syndicate to sell visa and citizenship did not stopped the continued accusation the Unity Government is padding the voters roll with naturalised Malaysian from China.

Kept under lid is the major bust of a building in Cyberjaya filled with scammers from China operating under the full knowledge of authorites.

It happened in 2019 when the Home Ministry was held by a PPBM Minister and the PM was from PPBM.

PAS may have its narrative but their Perikatan Nasional member; namely Gerakan was present at the Penang event.

PN leaders were seen engaging with representatives of the Chinese Communist party in Kuala Lumpur. PPBM leaders loudly advocated the government to join China and Russia-led BRICS.

Perhaps PAS is ready to go at it alone and pull out from PN. Or maybe not. Then, PAS need to acquire a level of maturity in their politics and acquire knowledge on public policy and international affair to be a credible alternative to lead the country one day.

Despite leading Kelantan for decades, they remained clueless on public policy and economic management. Noticeable is the low quality of PAS MPs debate in Parliament.
